You have two ways to use TheAltening. Pick the one that matches how you already play.

### Pick your setup

* **Use a supported client** if you already run Aristois, Impact, LiquidBounce, OQMineBot, etc. No extra app. You’ll paste a token in the client you're already using with no setup
* **Use the Authenticator** if you want one-click launch from the panel and automatic token handling with support for any game version. Recommended for most people or those without a supported client

### Learn how to setup the Authenticator

Our App is a lightweight helper that works with the official game launcher to sign you in from the panel. No copy-paste tokens. Click Quick Launch, play.

**Why it’s our recommendation**

* Runs only when you use it, closes when you’re done
* Leaves your game files alone; no unnecessary downloads
* Easy to remove at any time

**How to use it**

1. Download, unzip, and open our application
2. Sign in with your Alt Token
3. In the panel, hit Quick Launch and choose your launcher the first time

# What is a Supported Client?

A supported client is a third-party game client or bot that already knows how to talk to TheAltening through our API. If you use one of these, you can log in with a token inside the client itself and skip installing the Authenticator.

### Why use a supported client

* Fewer steps. Copy a token from the panel, paste it in the client, join a server.
* Built-in integration. The client handles our API behind the scenes.
* Stays normal for you, no extra apps to download

### How it works (quick)

1. Open the panel and copy a token.
2. In your client, find the place it accepts a token or “alt service” login.
3. Paste the token and launch.

### How to tell if your client is supported

* There’s a field or toggle for “TheAltening” or “token login.”
* The docs mention integration with an alt service or our API.
* You can launch after pasting a token without running any extra helper.

If your client isn’t on the list or doesn’t accept tokens directly, use the Authenticator path instead.


# TheAltening PC App — Quick Start

You can use either our desktop app or a supported client. If you’re using a supported client, you don’t need the app. You can learn more about [supported clients here](/documentation)

If you would like to use our application, here is a very simple guide to get ingame within one minute or less.

Step 1. [Download](https://thealtening.com/app) and extract TheAltening.exe&#x20;

Step 2. Right Click -> Run as Administrator

Step 3. Wait for application to start

* **Open your game** normally and sit at the home screen. Don’t join a server yet.

Step 4. Go to your [generator page](https://thealtening.com/tokens), generate and copy a token

Step 5. Paste token into the desktop application

Step 6. Connect to any server

Once the token has been successfully set, your next login to any server will be from that account.

Finished with TheAltening? No uninstallation is needed. Simply type "Q" in the program (keybind to exit) and close your game. There are no permanent changes made to your files.&#x20;


# What is an alt "Token" and why do i need it?

### &#x20;The super simple version

A **token** is a special code. You paste it in, and you play on a **separate profile**. That’s it.

* No long setup.
* Easy to switch.
* Keeps your main profile separate.

### Why use a token?

* **Fast:** Copy → paste → play.
* **Fresh starts:** If you want a clean slate, grab a new token.
* **Fewer headaches:** Less stuff on screen to mix up or leak.
* **Works where it counts:** Our Windows app and supported clients make it smooth.

### How do I use it?

1. Make an account on TheAltening and pick a plan.
2. **Windows:** open our app. **macOS/Linux:** use a **supported client**.
3. Press **Generate Token** on your dashboard.
4. **Paste the token** where your app/client asks.
5. Start the game and join servers with your separate profile.

> Want a fresh profile? Generate a new token and paste it in. Done.

### Quick tips

* Keep tokens **private**. Don’t share them.
* Follow the rules of any server you join.

**Is a token like a regular alt?**\
Yes. It’s just a simpler way to use one.

**Does a token give me special powers on servers?**\
No. It only helps you sign in as a separate profile.

# Can i upgrade from Basic to Premium during my subscription?

Yes. You can switch to Premium anytime. We prorate the price, so you only pay the difference for the time left on your current term

Users who wish to upgrade will only be charged the difference based on how many days of your plan remain. You won't pay any extra or less, just how much you were supposed to if you had started with the plan.

1. Go to [pricing page](https://panel.thealtening.com/#prices)
2. Click **Buy** on Premium.
3. The checkout will show your adjusted amount automatically.
4. Complete payment and your account upgrades right away.


# What happens if i exceed my Alt Limit / My alts are all the same?

Each plan has a daily generation limit (your “API limit”). When you hit that limit, the generator stops creating new alts and starts rotating the ones you already pulled earlier in the day. That’s why you may see repeats until the daily reset. You can check the countdown timer on your Generator page.

Why we rotate

* So you’re not stuck if you need to hop to a different server later
* Lets you reuse alts without burning your whole day’s quota at once

How to get more unique alts today

* Wait for the daily reset and generate again
* Upgrade to a plan with a higher daily limit. Upgrades are instant and prorated
* If you see repeats before you’ve hit the limit, contact support and we’ll take a look

Quick notes

* Seeing the same alt after the limit is expected. You’re viewing items already in your pool
* Your account, history, and settings stay the same when you upgrade
* The timer on the Generator page shows exactly when new alts will be available again


# I never received my subscription/plan

If you are a new user and just finished checking out but haven't received your plan activation yet:

Contact us via support ticket or via email at <admin@mail.thealtening.com>

Please include your username, email address, and any other relevant details. Most likely this usually happens because you have had a plan with us before, but we can resolve it quickly for you.&#x20;


# What is TheAltening's 1-day Trial Pass?

It’s a 24-hour Premium pass for $0.70. You get full access to Premium features and limits for one day, so you can try the best version of the service without committing to a month. It starts when you complete checkout and runs for a full 24 hours.&#x20;

Who it’s for

* You want to test drive the generator and API with real usage
* You only need short-term access for a session or two
* You’re deciding between Basic and Premium and want to feel the difference first

What you get

* Premium plan features for a full day
* Premium daily generation limits for that day
* Access through the Authenticator or a supported client
* Your dashboard history and settings carry over if you later choose a monthly plan

# TheAltening API

TheAltening API gives your launcher, bot, or alt manager a straightforward way to talk to your account. You call simple URLs, include your API key as a query parameter, and get clean JSON back that any script can parse.

Most folks use it to generate tokens and pass them straight into their app, quickly validate a token before using it, read basic account details like plan and expiry for gating features, and check that the service is healthy before a run.

&#x20;

Requests are standard GET calls with query parameters. Responses are consistent JSON objects so you can wire this up in whatever language or framework you already use. Endpoint details, parameters, and error codes on the following pages.

API access is available on plans that include it; the Starter plan doesn’t.

# Rate Limits

### Rate limits and usage

* The **/generate** endpoint has a daily usage limit based on your plan (25 or 50 alts \[basic/premium] per 24 hours).
* When you hit the daily limit (timer on generator page), responses loop from the beginning of that day’s history. This means that if you exceed your daily limit you will start getting the same alts for your convenience.
* The `limit` Boolean in responses tells you if the per-day cap has been reached or not.

Parameters in brackets are optional.

Returns a fresh alt token you can use to log in. Works only for plans with API access.

**GET** `/license?key=<api-key>`

Use this to validate an API key and read its plan and expiry.

**GET** `/info?key=<api-key>&token=<alt-token>`

Check if a specific alt token is valid and when it expires.

**GET** `/favorite?key=<api-key>&token=<alt-token>`

Marks the provided token as a favorite. The token must belong to your account and must not be expired. Requires a **Premium** license. Non-eligible requests return `403 Forbidden`. Send the request again as a toggle to undo it.
